The Trusted Trader Certification (TTC) is a unique accreditation introduced by the Sri Lanka–China Business Cooperation Council (SLCBCC) to identify and certify creditworthy Sri Lankan companies with a good commercial behavior.
The Sri Lankan Trusted Trader certification is accredited by the Trade & Development Cooperation Council of CCPIT Beijing. It sets a benchmark for reliability and good commercial practices, ensuring smoother and safer transactions between Sri Lankan and Chinese businesses.
TTC was launched to bridge the trust gap in the China–Sri Lanka trade lane. Many businesses, especially SME exporters, need a reference from a reliable source about their ability to provide more value for money to Chinese importers.
With Sri Lankan importers, especially SMEs, facing numerous challenges such as upfront payments and uncertainty about partner credibility, TTC provides a verified trust framework, reducing risks and fostering confidence in bilateral trade.
TTC is more than a certificate; it’s a trust seal that empowers Sri Lankan businesses to trade confidently with China under the Belt and Road framework, ensuring mutual recognition, security, and growth.
TTC was proposed by Sri Lanka at the 7th China–Sri Lanka Joint Commission in 2021. In January 2025, SLCBCC and CCPIT–Beijing signed an MoU to mutually recognize each other’s certificates, making Sri Lanka the first country in the world to secure China’s Trusted Trader compatibility.
